Britons have much to feel good about this year – from The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee to Ellie Simmonds medal-winning performances at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Amidst this flush of patriotism, Davenport Chocolate have dipped into our national chocolate heritage to bring the likes of Black Magic and Fry’s Chocolate Cream kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

This retro collection has a decidedly modern edge. The Raspberry Jellies are dusted with real raspberry powder that gives them a tart burst of flavour. For a glimpse inside Jane’s studio, check out Davenport’s Chocolate TV. Her antique enrobing machine, inherited from her Swiss mentors, mesmerized us. You can watch the chocolate wheel drawing molten chocolate to a height, before it cascades into a vat as a chocolate waterfall.
